It’s no secret that everyone loves a spa day – it’s the perfect way to escape the stresses of everyday life and leave all sense of reality behind. Here is everything you need to know from the person in the know…
- What are the benefits of going to the spa?
When retreating to a spa break, I feel the benefits can be endless. It can be so easy to get swept up with the realities of work, families and everyday life that almost all of us forget to take that sometimes very limited time to ourselves, ‘me time’ if you will. When escaping on a spa break this ‘me time’ can feel so much more precious and valuable. A spa day offers the ultimate mental and physical break that we all need.
As your mind switches off, so does your body, allowing yourself to recuperate not only physically in terms of rest, but mentally in terms of mindfulness. As we can all agree in today’s day and age, mental health is just as important as physical.
- What are the most popular treatments at Thornton Hall?
If we were top handpick a client ‘favourite’ I would say our Lava Shell Full Body Massage at The Spa; lava shells are the world’s first self-heating massage tool, allowing only the deepest of penetration into the muscles.
For the more clinical approach I would suggest a CACI Ultimate facial at the Lodge; the CACI non-surgical facelift is an advanced non-invasive facial. Using tiny electrical impulses to lift and tone the facial muscles, whilst improving the skin elasticity and reducing appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
- Are there certain treatments that people tend to go for if they are stressed?
The most beneficial treatment for stress has and will always be massage. As much as mental relaxation has its effect on the body, we always feel so much more at ease to switch off our minds when our body has the attention it requires.
- What advice would you give to people when booking a spa treatment or break?
My advice for guests looking to book a treatment or break would be ‘shop around’. So many people are always so eager to look for the cheapest deal out there, sometimes there can be a reason for such low prices. Read up on where you plan to go, from their website and what they offer, to what people say about them on forums, such as Trip Advisor. Like any place there will always be the occasional bad review – we can’t please everyone; but if you read the detail of those good ones you can always have a good feel for what a place is really about.
Why wait? Book your next spa break at Thornton Hall now!
